High School Diploma Classes
Our adult high school diploma program is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. We offer adult students a flexible schedule conducive to successful completion of their high school diploma. Credits toward our high school completion program can be transferred from other accredited high schools or colleges. Students have the opportunity to meet with a counselor to review their requirements and create a personalized learning plan. Students may enter the program at any time.
Mathematics Lab: This lab provides direct instruction & individual assistance with Algebra 1A, Algebra 1B, CAHSEE math prep, and GED® math prep. This class is free to currently enrolled Simi Valley Adult School students.
Adult Basic Education:
Improve your reading, writing and math skills as you work toward earning a diploma or GED®. Basic assessment required for placement. Start anytime. For additional information or to meet with an instructor, call (805) 579-6200 ext. 1724.
Basic Academics
Designed for individuals who want to learn to read or improve their reading skills, and offered in partnership with READ Ventura County and the City of Simi Valley Library’s reading program for adults, students work one-on-one with volunteer tutors to meet their personal learning goals. If you or someone you know would like to be a better reader or would like to become a volunteer tutor, call the Reading Program for Adults at (805) 677-7160. Class is FREE.
Literacy Tutor Training
Learn to teach others one-on-one by participating as a tutor in the adult basic academics program offered in partnership with READ Ventura County and the City of Simi Valley Library. For more information, call the library’s adult reading program office at (805) 677-7160. Class is FREE.
Project HELP - Tutoring Your Child
Reading, Math, Language Arts Remediation
A cooperative program between Simi Valley Unified School District elementary schools and the adult school. Parents will help their children remediate at their own pace and academic level using a computerized program. Please bring a referral form from the student’s teacher. Registration packets will be available in the Counseling Office, Room 402. For more information, call 805-579-6200 x 1614.
