Motorcycle Rider Education Driver’s Education for Adults/Motorcycle Rider Education: A state approved, California Highway Patrol administered motorcycle safety course. This basic one weekend course is for new and beginning riders with no formal training or for persons desiring to get back into motorcycling. It is required by the state for riders under 21. Motorcycles and helmets are provided. Upon successful completion, students receive DMV DL389 certificate which waives DMV riding skill test. Students receive a CMSP graduation card that may entitle them to insurance discounts. Classes are by reservation only and students must attend all classes.
